Room Makeovers: Before and After {Part 2}

I had such a great time looking back on old pictures, that I’ve been chomping at the bit to do this part 2.  If you haven’t had a chance to read the previous post, you can pop on over from here.  But, hurry back!  🙂

Let’s pick up from where we left off, which brought us to June 2016.

6.  I made a pact with myself that I would makeover each of my three kiddos bedrooms while they were at camp last summer.  In theory, it was a great idea.  Each child would be gone a separate week.  And that is what happened. However,  I had not factored in the fact there was only one week between each child’s scheduled camp…and all three were at camps hours away, which required a bit of driving on my part.

I started off strong in early June with my {then} 8 year old.  You can read all the fun details of his bedroom makeover here.  I know that someday he’ll want a more “macho” bedroom, but my goal for now was to make it light, bright, and cozy.

7.  A week later, my other son headed off to camp and I tackled his bedroom.  It was an extremely humid week and it took many hours of work, but I am so happy with the outcome.  My goal was a room that would fit him well now and also adapt to the fact that he is growing into a young man.  You can see more before and after pictures here.

8.  Last and certainly not least, was our sweet girl’s bedroom.  This one was a process, but all of the work was worth it to see the expression on her face.  She picked out the color for her walls, but that was all she knew about the work that I would do in her room.  You can see the whole process right here.

9.  Now that my kid’s bedrooms were complete, I took a break for…two months.  Then my sweet Mom came out and helped us tackle our dark and very woody dining room and kitchen.  I love all of the transformations, but this dining room makeover is one of my favorites.  I used to cringe when we had company over because it was so dark, but now it’s one of my favorite rooms!  You can read all about what we accomplished in one week here.

10.  Along with the dining room was our kitchen makeover.  Phew!  That one began the same week as the dining room, but took longer due to all of the work on the cabinet doors.  It was all completely worth it and it buys my husband a few years before I take a sledgehammer to it!  😉  You can get all the details on this makeover here.

11.  This last one rounded out 2016 and squeaked in between Christmas and New Year’s.  This back door is right next to our kitchen and it was such an eyesore after the kitchen makeover.  It was fun {for once} to have a tiny area to transform.  You can read all about my quickest makeover here.

Thanks for stopping by and looking back on how far we’ve come here at Little by Little Farmhouse.  We’ve done quite a bit inside and it looks like 2017 with include many days of taming the jungle outside!
