Monthly Family Meal Plan

Last month I shared how I plan my dinners one month at a time.  You can read all about why and how I do that here.  I was asked what our actual dinners consist of, so I thought that I would do a follow-up today.

A little back story though.  Six years ago I began to experience a lot of pain, discomfort, and stomach issues.  It took some time and a bit of sacrifice, but I have realized that sugar and flour are not my friends.  {I still love them though.}  My system had enough of these two ingredients and it began to revolt.  With that being said, you will notice that our dinners do not center around pasta and bread.  I know, it is very sad.  But, this momma is the cook and I would like to eat the dinners that I prepare as well.  This does not mean that we never eat these foods, as you will see when you scroll down.

I have also played around here and there with Trim Healthy Mama and although I am not strict on their eating plan, I have found a handful of recipes in their cookbook that my family really enjoys.  I will try and list sources for our meals, so that you can make them too.  However, cookbooks have copyright laws, so I am not able to provide you with recipes that are not available to the public via the internet.  Sorry!  If you have specific questions, please comment below and I will answer them.

Most of our dinners consist of a meat/main dish, a vegetable, and one side dish.  Everyone gets some of each item and yes, my kids all eat their veggies!
