Momma’s May Reading List

I know that you probably are not keeping track of my reading list posts, but I am.  You see, I’m a 100% or 0% person.  I’m not saying that is a good or bad thing.  Just something that I have learned about myself and my family must work with.  Why am I telling you that?  Because I committed publicly here that I would share a monthly reading list with you all.  I did well.  For two months.  Ugh.  In my defense, I did not quit reading for the month of April.  I simply was trying to catch up on my reading and weed through a ton of books that I borrowed from the library.  Now that the catch-up and weeding is done, I really do have a new list for May.

These three books kind of fell into my hands.  They aren’t from some master reading schedule, but I believe that they are what I am meant to read this month.  I say that confidently because it is only a few days into the month and these are already shifting my attitude, outlook, and focus in a very good way.

Entrusted by Beth Moore

I received this book from a women’s Bible study last fall.  Yup, the one that I only attended twice before life became too full again.  Maybe I shouldn’t say “full” as it was more like, “I don’t want to run out too many evenings a week and just need to be home.”  This study was placed on the shelf and I just rediscovered it a few weeks ago.  I do not have Beth’s video teachings, but I do have my Bible, so I am thinking that is enough.  This is actually my first Beth Moore study!  I know, what hole have I been living in?!

A Confident Heart Devotional by Renee Swope

This one did just fall into my hands as I stumbled upon it at a discount store.  I was digging through the weird books and found this one.  I had never heard of the title before, but I was familiar with Renee Swope and Proverbs 31 ministries.  And I figured that I could use a little confidence boost to push me beyond my comfort zone.  New territory is where I feel God calling me and I am hopeful that Renee will walk me to the edge.

Come With Me:Discovering the Beauty of Following Where He Leads by Suzanne Eller

Again, this description could just be copied from the book right above!  I am excited as this book builds upon Renee Swope’s devotional in helping me take more steps towards my Savior.  I am loving Suzanne’s introspective questions and challenges at the end of every chapter.

Have you read any of these books or done Beth’s study?  I would love to hear from you if you have!  And if you would like to recommend books for me to read, please do!  I/m all ears!  🙂

xo,

Leigh
