Farmhouse Decorating, Our Farmhouse

Farmhouse Light Fixture {Steel Lighting Company}

It’s no secret that our entire house needs new lighting.  We inherited many “interesting” fixtures…or lack thereof when we purchased our farmhouse.  We have changed out few {in a bathroom and front entry} and have updated others {outside}.  It’s a bit of a slow go here with lighting as other projects take precedence.  But, this past week, we took a huge leap forward with a new light fixture in our family room from Steel Lighting Company.

Guys, this was the absolute perfect timing as the days get shorter and my littlest guy and I have started doing his homeschool work at our family room table.  Plus, it just looks so good in this room!

You know how I like to share some before pictures, so this is the light fixture that was there.  Notice the rigging up to make the chain shorter.  {Keepin’ it classy!}

I chose Steel Lighting Company’s “The Malibu” in black.  It came with all the hardware and directions, so that Mr. Little by Little Farmhouse could install it for me.  Because, you know, I don’t do electricity.

It was so helpful to have a four foot cord, that we trimmed to the exact height that worked best for our space.

I did have to lend a hand, well two hands, while he attached the wiring…

Are you ready for the reveal?  I am giddy!

And…the light needs a few close-ups to show it off a bit, don’t ya think?

I am smitten.  And excited about the character, style, and ambiance it will add to our family room.  It’s a step forward in progress, my friend.

Take a moment and pop on over and say hi to Aaron and Rachel at Steel Lighting Company!  Pick our your favorite light and tell me which one it is!  And!  When you install it in your home…send me a picture!

xo,

Leigh

      Thanks for loving this light! I shall never doubt the power of a light fixture again…no pun intended! 😉
